And The Fun Doesn't Stop Here!

The Cowpokes had such a great time while we were camping. They had fun games for the cub scouts to play. They could put put, bowl, eat an apple off a stick, take funny pictures, do an challenge coarse, and so much more! The boys were really having a blast. There were so many pictures I tried to make a collage instead of posting them one by one.
The boys weren't sure what they wanted to do first! And I took so many pictures that weekend. I wanted to share them all but I didn't want a marathon post of 40 pictures. I think you can click on the pictures if you want to see them bigger.

We then hit the waters for some canoeing! Big Cowpoke was loving it!He rode with his friend and his mother. Mr. Cowboy, Little Cowpoke, and I took another boat. The boys had a terrific time out on the water. I let Mr. Cowboy do all the work. He was fussing at me for my paddling ability so I just gave up and let him get us home. He had Little Cowpoke for help!! After canoeing there was a costume contest. The boys all posing. Little Cowpoke was picking grass?? Not so sure, but that is what happens when Mr. Cowboy takes the pictures. Big Cowpoke and his friend Stephen.Little Cowpoke the Tough Guy! We hadn't gotten his Speed Racer Costume in yet so he got to be a Gladiator! He thought it was pretty great! The boys all had a blast. And just think, there was still a bomb fire, haunted house (which was awesome) and more crafts!! And here I am! This is what I look like to all my children! They must think I have a black growth on my face! I actually had to stop wearing my glasses because the right lens started getting a bunch of scratches on it from taking pictures! Ha ha! But that was me in the only bathroom on the camp with flush toilets and a mirror!! This bathroom was my friend!! I am almost caught up on my blogging!! Just one more Cub Scout post, I promise!

"You'll Shoot Your Eye Out!"

While at the Cub Scout Family Camp Out, the boys got to do some archery and BB Guns. Those two activities always have super long lines, so we went to those first. The name of the camp out that weekend was Haunted Camp out. The boys were loving it. Big Cowpoke and his friend got to go first in the archery. See the thing around Big Cowpoke's friend's neck? Each kid got one of those, and for every activity they completed they got a bead to put on their necklace. A little help from Dad. While Dad was helping Big Cowpoke, Little Cowpoke was giving his name to the Boy Scout. It was so cute to hear my four year old spell his name for the Boy Scout. Then he proceeded to pick his nose and eat it. Those nasty boys!! Then it was Little Cowpoke's turn. He must have been the cutest boy doing archery ever! Getting some help from Dad. Get ready and aim! Fire!!! One more time just because I love his tongue hanging out!! Use those muscles boy!! And fire!! I don't think they even came close to a target, but Little Cowpoke was so excited. BOO!!! He found three of his arrows! Then it was on to waiting in another line. Big Cowpoke's most favorite thing ever.....the BB Guns! Get it ready! Aim and attempt to fire, with a sticky trigger. Then he couldn't decide if he was right handed or left handed..... Weird.....but he did manage to hit the target! Three times!!! Not too bad for not having any help or practice! Then Mr. Cowboy got mad. He couldn't find me. He was wondering why he was helping the boys do all this stuff and I was no where to be found. But really, how was I going to help them shoot BB Guns. I have never done it either! Little Cowpoke's first time ever shooting a BB Gun. He was so excited. The boys both did really well. Then it was off to some other games to earn some more beads. But that is another post. I am so far behind on my blogging!! We have done so many things!!

And since I haven't had any pictures of my weanlings in a while, here are the two girls in their new pasture!! Josephine, the darker one, is one month younger!!! Oh and these were taking with my phone, so they are dark and fuzzy looking. Oh how the angle of a picture makes such the difference in horse pictures! Luna/Tater so doesn't look that ugly!! Ha ha! No neck, no rear, and HUGE belly! There is one thing about that palomino filly, she sometimes doesn't want to eat her grain. She will nibble at it and then just walk away and act like she is sleeping. Weird right?

Cub Family Camp Out

A couple of weekends ago the boys, Mr. Cowboy, and I all went camping. The camp out was the Annual Cub Scout Family Camp Out. The boys were so excited, me, not so much. There was a lot to get packed. But, it was perfect timing, because it was actually a break in all the rain we had been getting. During the day it would be around 75 and at night it would be around 45. We arrived at the campsite on Friday night. In the DARK. Good thing Mr. Cowboy is good at setting up our tent and our air mattress in the dark! That night we had some homemade chili for dinner and some hot chocolate. It was perfect. The next morning.........not so much. That is Little Cowpoke at 7 am after sleeping on the ground in a sleeping bag. He was so happy. I think that everyone was a little puffy that morning. The night before there were a bunch of crazy cub scout leaders up until 2 am. Then we were woken up at 6 am by a lady's cell phone ringing, "You Make Me Feel.....You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman!!" Let me tell you, I was not a happy camper. Mr. Cowboy made some bacon and some fried eggs. Which were made in a butt load of bacon grease, GROSS!! He seemed to enjoy the slimy greasy eggs, I went for the pancakes made by some friends of ours. At least one child was in a good mood. Big Cowpoke carried that stick/club around all weekend. He even brought it home. I wouldn't be surprised if it was under his pillow. It was such a great find. Oh to be eight again. After breakfast we were off to meet up with the other scouts and see what our schedule for the day would be. It was a beautiful morning. The fall colors that we got to see is about as Fall as it gets around here. The sign to tell us where to go, just in case you get lost. I think the sign has made me even more confused. Good thing Mr. Cowboy had been camping there before. I might have ended up in Brazil. We found the most fun hand washing station!! Not soap on a rope, but soap in pantie hose!!! Oh my goodness, if those boys only knew what they were washing their hands with!!! I was not the only one amused with the hand washing station! We also met up with some good friends that are in a different pack. It's good to see Little Cowpoke more awake!! Big Cowpoke and his good friend. They hung out all weekend. They even dressed up as the same Jedi Knight for Halloween! Yep, Little Cowpoke was actually excited to be there. We listened to an orientation, the rules, and the schedule for the day. Then we were off to do fun things like archery, bee bee gun shooting, and more! I love it when Mr. Cowboy hangs with the boys. And I am sure the boys love it just as much as I do. While the boys stood in line, I found some more signs of fall. A fallen leaf. Wait, a flower? Yep, there were wild flowers growing. It was still pretty warm during the day. Yes, I know Louisiana is messed up!! Ha ha! I have a lot more pictures of the fun, just didn't want to put them all into one post, so just hold on to your hats, the next few posts are going to be so fun filled you just won't know what to do with yourself. More Cub Scout Camping to come.......
