I Heart Peanut and Joe

I bet everyone is so tired of me talking about Peanut, but I just can't stop. I really love our little sorrel horse. Yesterday the kids had off school. Which I think is a plot to make all the SAHMs not go vote. Because really, who is going to drag all their kids to go and vote. I had to wait until Mr. Cowboy got home from work. Okay, well, I will get off my soap box. Now, since there is "never anything to do and life is so boring" says Big Cowpoke. I got Peanut out for the boys to ride. Little Cowpoke had to go first. He always has to go first. I think it has to do with him being a middle child. So, Little Cowpoke went first and Big Cowpoke went inside to play online at PBS kids. So, here is what Peanut and my Little Cowpoke did. They practiced whoa. And trotting. They were so cute!! Little Cowpoke loves to ride. I actually let him walk away from me and around a cone and then back to me. I was nervous, but Peanut and Little Cowpoke weren't. So, I got them on video. It's not the best video, but Little Cowpoke is sure cute!!I think Little Cowpoke did an awesome job. He even rode around the cones I put up for barrels. He trotted in between the cones. Peanut was so good at stopping when Little Cowpoke wanted to stop. I am so excited to finally have a really good kid's horse. I have been searching for ever for a really good old gelding. Oh, and because I have not posted a picture of Joe in a long time. I must. I have to show everyone how huge he is. Here he is with Little Cowpoke. Joe is all fluffy for the winter time. I love it. Here Joe is walking around the yard with Big Cowpoke. They played outside for hours. I swear Joe sticks around the kids better than the dog does. Just look at that rump. He sure has grown up. He will be one year old in January. We will have to have a birthday party for him.

I heart Peanut too. I am so happy that you got that horse! Joe needs to come on over and meet Flower. They would make a cute couple. ;-)

I had to drag all four of my chillens to the polls. They were actually excellent during the thirty minute wait. The school did a fantastic job of teaching them the importance of voting, so we had lots of very good discussions about it. I got to indoctinate my little McCain supporters! hehehe

Would you look at how Peanut is watching your little man up there!! Oh gosh Andrea, I am SO happy for you guys and that awesome old pony!!! And look at Cowpoke trotting away too! Way to go girl-- way to go!!!

You must have read my mind- I was wondering how Joe was doing too. He looks wonderful- really has grown up to be a lovely goatie.

And to your comment on my blog-- yep. Now is the time. The trick for us is going to be to decide WHERE to go- stay in this state or another in the south- and what career- go back to hoof care full time, or work at another job full time w/ horses still part time/ hobby.

Decisions decisions...

Cute stuff! It was fun for me hearing your voice. :) Also, your son has a helmet. Have they always? Mine haven't--we started when we opened the youth ranch. Now I cannot imagine not having them because I'm so used to them. He was so cute riding. I love seeing the smile kids get on a horse.

Don't worry if we have to shut the youth ranch down for a bit--you can work the cattle at our family ranch--that's where all the cows are. See, all is good. :)

Did you guys ever get the helmet that looks like a cowboy hat? I want to know if they're good and cute and all that.

Hey! That's why your're supposed to do Early Voting, girl! lol!

We have a Boer goat, too. Is name is Pepper. He's only 10 months old but he's getting huge, too. He's just a big old goofball. He's missing a few screws, though. The gal that we rescued him from had decided to wait until he was 2 months old to disbud...and kept the fire on his head for apparently way to long.

And it didn't make any difference, because, Pepper now has horns now anyway. It's sad really.

I loved seeing that video of Peanut and your son. Peanut is a real keeper. Super patient baby sitter. What luck for you and your family.
I noticed that the spot on his neck, though. What's that from?

I enjoyed hearing your voice, too. It's such a pretty and smooth voice. :)
