I took Cowpokette to her first doctor's visit. It was an adventure. She was miserable by the time we got home. The Dr. took an x-ray to see how the bone was doing. Well...not so hot. I was really hoping he would say, "Wow, everything looks great, keep doing what you are doing!" But instead he said the top half of the broken bone has moved down 9 mm. When she broke it it was only shoved down 3 mm. And then the brake has moved 15 degrees. The Dr. says that if the bone moves any more that they will have to cut part of her cast off, put in a wedge, and recast her.
Well, that wasn't what I wanted to hear. We got home from the Dr. office and Cowpokette has been miserable. Tonight she actually broke down screaming and crying that her leg hurt. I just held her and told her she would be okay. I think maybe she had a muscle twitch. Something had to have hurt her. She didn't even cry like that when she broke it.
Sorry, I have been so bad about posting. I have been so busy with getting a business going, kids, horses, rodeos, baseball, church, dogs, last minute senior portrait sessions, and now one little girl with a broken leg. She has been really needy yesterday and today. I haven't been able to leave the room much.
I don't want to sound like I am complaining, but I am just really tired. So, I am going to go to bed.

That is a lot to deal with! Yes go and get some much needed rest...
Oh no. Bummer. Sounds like you could use some scaling back about now. Can you delegate some responsibilities to others for a while, and delay anything that's not life or death important? Your sweet daughter needs you...and you need to be there for her...and give yourself a rest, too. You can't be super mom all the time and spread yourself too thin.
Hang in there and do what I do when the world gets to be too much: Cocoon with your family.
(((((hugs)))))

Oh goodness, sure hope the bone break stays put! Does Cowpokette need to stay fairly immobile for that to happen? You have your hands full, take it easy and hang in there!!
Prayers for you and that sweet baby Andrea. Catch us up when you can, but know there are a whole lot of folks out here in the equiblogosphere keeping all y'all in our thoughts.
Squeeze that strong brave cowgirl from me please.
It must hurt you so much to see your baby in pain. I'm sending a prayer for her recovery.
Dear Lord - Surround Andrea with your overwhelming grace, give her strength for the day, and rest when she is exhausted. Please bring healing to Sweet Dollie's leg. Take away the pain, make her comfortable, and snuggle her close.
You are God of the Universe, yet you care about all the small stuff too! Thank you! Amen.
Blessings~

You poor thing...the last thing you should be worried about is blogging.
I remember when Meg broke her arm that the pain was much worse days after the actual accident. And her break wasn't even technically a break, nothing like what poor little Cowpokette is going through.
Take care of her and yourself there Andrea, some of the other stuff is just going to have to go by the wayside.
Much luvs and prayers being sent your way.
I'm agreeing in Prayer with Paula!
One question, Did they prescribe any valium? The problem with Ortho Docs, for some unknown reason, they seem to forget about spasms, especially with broken femurs. Sudden outbursts in pain are more than likely caused by spasms. Any time a bone is broken and not in it's normal place that will set the surrounding muscles to spasm, If they haven't , it might be worth asking about. A little child won't know how to explain that kind of pain. Again, good luck, and if you have any questions, I'll try and help, I do it for a living...... ;)
Andrea, thank you for updating, but don't feel like you have too. Give yourself a break. I can't even imagine what you are all going through. Sending prayers to our maker for you all and especially for little cowpokette.
Oh but that's what we're here for! I complain all the time! :) You're allowed and if anybody has a problem with that then oh well, they'll get over it.
Hang in there and rest with you can.
Honey, that's not complaining, that's just a lot on your plate. Try to get some rest. Prayers your way!
oh my goodness. im out of the loop~ hugs to your baby and strength vibes for you... what a miserable thing to have to deal with! hoping her leg heals well, and that you manage with no gray hair! I know its hard, but let yourself let the little stuff go, this is the big stuff!!
I'm so sorry. I don't know who to feel worse for - that active little girl or her mama. Still praying.
I agree with Callie on the valium. My daughters doc prescribed it for her osteotomy's and it really worked. Good luck and I hope your girl starts healing.
