Every year for Mardi Gras we go to Mr. Willis's house for food, fun, and a fabulous parade."Uhm....Did somebody say Parade?" Yes that is right Cowpokette. We ate some great Gumbo and then watched a Mardi Gras Parade. "Oh My Stars! That sounds like fun! Let's get going to the parade!" After we got finished eating, we all started getting ready for the small town Mardi Gras Parade. This is the small town that Mr. Cowboy grew up in. It's super tiny and I love it. This is Ms. Monica. We were at her house for the food and fun. Every year she has a costume she wears. She always gets tons of beads and goodies! She is so much fun. Then Cowpokette felt it was her duty to do some bossing around. I really have no idea where she gets that from!! Hee hee. Little Cowpoke had to get in a little happy dance. This Little Cowpoke is a really good dancer. He is my little Homie "G". He loves his pants to be baggy and his shorts to be long. I don't get it? I do not know where it comes from either? His Dad sure does not wear his pants or shorts like that. I actually have to get Mr. Cowboy to wear a bit bigger pants. There is such thing as too tight! Anyway, back to the parade. There is a lot of waiting for the parade to start. All the kids were running around like wild banshees.Big Cowpoke was all red from running around like crazy. Paw Paw was looking a bit bored. He was keeping an eye on Cowpokette for me so I could take pictures of everyone. Do you wonder where my kids got their eyes from? Paw Paw has great blue eyes too! And they all look like their Paw Paw. Cowpokette played and played with this gate. Maybe I need one of those gates at home? And yes, we were still waiting for the parade to start. It was running a bit late. Big Cowpoke was scoping out the road. Looking for any signs of a parade. But still nothing! Little Cowpoke staked out his place with his plastic bag, ready for anything that would be thrown at him. Here are some pictures of all the kids waiting. That is Ms. Monica's super duper bead catcher! Yes we were still waiting. This Parade is now behind schedule. At least the kids were easily entertained. They had other kids and plastic bags to play with.Gee, that is a pretty face. I told him to smile. He must be at the age where the "funny" faces are more fun then smiles. This is Mr. Willis. We were all at his house. I am always amazed at the parties he has at his house. They always have great food and people come and go all day long. It's really crazy. But his outdoor kitchen and party room stays clean, and everyone makes sure they pick up. It's really nice. The Parade must be coming now! We have been waiting for a long time."What's that you say? You see a Parade?" Yep, it was Parade time!! Finally!See the flying beads. I love going to this Parade because of all the people who wear the Traditional Mardi Gras Costumes. They all have meaning and such, but I am not too sure what they are. I think her costume goes great with her pink boots!! This is a family wearing their traditional costumes. I love how the daughter is riding a old horse and is wearing a helmet. Smart Parents. There actually was an accident later that day with a little girl falling off her horse and the horse stepped on her head.Even little kidos get to wear the fun costumes. Little Cowpoke had a blast!! He was loving it. Cowpokette couldn't believe that people would throw perfectly good jewlery at her! She was so excited. She also was in love with the fact that candy was falling from the sky!Big Cowpoke tried to act cool, but I knew he was having fun! Then came my most favorite float ever! It was so cool. The Krewe's name was "Krewe De Who?". I thought it was so original! There was an antena, a boat, some cans, loud music! It was great!!That is a crab trap they used as a trash can. Next to that was an A/C unit. How cool is that?? See those huge speakers??? They were playing some great music. It was the "Perfect Tin!". So funny!! I loved it.The Cowpokes had a blast!! They got a lot of stuff in their bags, and lots of candy. But I think this little girl got the most!I love the huge toothbrush she got!! So fun!! So fun, I had to share all the pictures. What is life without pictures? Oh, and today is my birthday!! I am 29 years old! Ahhhhh!!!!!

Happy Birthday... I guess!?
OK, being I am from California and led a sheltered life, I have no idea what all them beads are about. Do tell, what the whole Mardi Gras thingy is?
You did it again, you succeeded in making a great post. I just love coming by, you have an adorable family, your children could be models, I am not kidding. Thanks for sharing such an interesting post and the pictures are very nice. The kids got a lot of necklaces.
LOL, That has got to be the craziest parade ever! Love it! Purple , green and gold!
Your boys look so grown up all of a sudden!! What a fun day! They grow up so fast. You're at least a good mom and take pics and document their lives.
