Forgotten Photos

This week has been super busy. Well, not so much busy as in work busy, but as in having fun with friends and running errands busy. We are waiting for some of the water to dry up so we can ride a bit before the rodeo this weekend. Friday is the Rabbit Festival in the next town over. It is really a lot of fun. There are always great Cajun bands playing and always some rabbit to eat. Or, you could just pet some rabbits and eat the great fair food. I love fair food. (I forgot I had four pictures that I took last weekend in my SLR before the battery died.) Then on Saturday we are going to the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show! I am super excited about that. I love to go shopping and shopping, oh, and shopping. There is a rodeo and concert too, at the end of the day. Brooks and Dunn are playing on Saturday night. (The big grey horse was being difficult about standing still.) Then on Sunday we are going to go to the rodeo club, for another round of fun! The kids have such a blast at the rodeo. My niece is riding Casper, the big grey horse. He is older than Peanut and such a sweetie. And yes, Casper is that big, and yes, Peanut is that small. My niece is the cutest girl ever. She gets so excited to ride, and she tries really hard. She won a third and a fourth place. She did a great job. This weekend is going to be a busy one, but I like them that way. When we are busy and out of the house, then my house stays clean.

Tomorrow is the first day of spring, and we are coming into spring with temperatures of 77 degrees. I am a little concerned what our summer temperatures are going to be. I hope not too toasty.

Don't forget to vote for a colt or filly with my two "still" pregnant mares. No signs of any babies.

Great pics of the 'lil 'uns. So cute on thos horses.
Just wondering if any of those rodeos have any rules or guidelines on helmet wearing?

I think because of my fall I am just so in tune with safety issues now. It's so easy to fall off and suffer a serious injury. I love that your niece's stirrups have tapaderos though. That was her little feet won't slip all the way through if she should fall.
I bought some winter ones, but I'd like to get some pretty leather ones for my stirrups, too.

Casper looks like a gentle giant. She reminds me a big gray Thoroughbred I knew when I was a kid, named Beau. Looks like the kids had fun. Your weekend sounds great...busy is good...hope you enjoy the concert and livestock show!

We will be in SE Houston on Saturday also, but not for rodeo {pretty sad about that} :(

It would be fun to get together, but I don't see how that could happen.

Have fun and enjoy the concert.

Funny..I was thinking about helmets today too. I was asking my daughter about brain injuries after that actress died after hitting her head. It doesn't take a lot to hurt the brain..even a mild concussion can cause problems..We are pretty vulnerable creatures we humans... Cute photos and yes, that is a big horse....Michelle

Great photos! Too cute! Pesky (the Old Man) is that big and Savannah learned to ride on him and rode him for years! We always got some strange looks and questions on how we would put her on something so big! :O He was so good with her! Those old kid broke horses are priceless! Kiddos are too cute!

Sounds like alot of fun you have planned out! Saturday night is Tater's surprise party and Sunday is Savannah's first Kids Ranch Rodeo at our church! She is beyond excited and has been praciting! She is into long trotting now! Hope you all have lots of fun!

I envy your kids who get to spend their weekends rodeoing. Can I be your kid this summer?
