Cub Family Camp Out
A couple of weekends ago the boys, Mr. Cowboy, and I all went camping. The camp out was the Annual Cub Scout Family Camp Out. The boys were so excited, me, not so much. There was a lot to get packed. But, it was perfect timing, because it was actually a break in all the rain we had been getting. During the day it would be around 75 and at night it would be around 45. We arrived at the campsite on Friday night. In the DARK. Good thing Mr. Cowboy is good at setting up our tent and our air mattress in the dark! That night we had some homemade chili for dinner and some hot chocolate. It was perfect. The next morning.........not so much. That is Little Cowpoke at 7 am after sleeping on the ground in a sleeping bag. He was so happy. I think that everyone was a little puffy that morning. The night before there were a bunch of crazy cub scout leaders up until 2 am. Then we were woken up at 6 am by a lady's cell phone ringing, "You Make Me Feel.....You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman!!" Let me tell you, I was not a happy camper. Mr. Cowboy made some bacon and some fried eggs. Which were made in a butt load of bacon grease, GROSS!! He seemed to enjoy the slimy greasy eggs, I went for the pancakes made by some friends of ours. At least one child was in a good mood. Big Cowpoke carried that stick/club around all weekend. He even brought it home. I wouldn't be surprised if it was under his pillow. It was such a great find. Oh to be eight again. After breakfast we were off to meet up with the other scouts and see what our schedule for the day would be. It was a beautiful morning. The fall colors that we got to see is about as Fall as it gets around here. The sign to tell us where to go, just in case you get lost. I think the sign has made me even more confused. Good thing Mr. Cowboy had been camping there before. I might have ended up in Brazil. We found the most fun hand washing station!! Not soap on a rope, but soap in pantie hose!!! Oh my goodness, if those boys only knew what they were washing their hands with!!! I was not the only one amused with the hand washing station! We also met up with some good friends that are in a different pack. It's good to see Little Cowpoke more awake!! Big Cowpoke and his good friend. They hung out all weekend. They even dressed up as the same Jedi Knight for Halloween! Yep, Little Cowpoke was actually excited to be there. We listened to an orientation, the rules, and the schedule for the day. Then we were off to do fun things like archery, bee bee gun shooting, and more! I love it when Mr. Cowboy hangs with the boys. And I am sure the boys love it just as much as I do. While the boys stood in line, I found some more signs of fall. A fallen leaf. Wait, a flower? Yep, there were wild flowers growing. It was still pretty warm during the day. Yes, I know Louisiana is messed up!! Ha ha! I have a lot more pictures of the fun, just didn't want to put them all into one post, so just hold on to your hats, the next few posts are going to be so fun filled you just won't know what to do with yourself. More Cub Scout Camping to come.......

What a cute post! The colors are amazing and that camp looks so nice! The panty hose/soap was a little icky to me but I guess it works! Self cleaning anyways:)
Thanks for your compliments on my portrait work! I have a website, www.freewebs.com/fineartpetportraits or e-mail yourportrait@live.com if you ever think of having one done!
You have got some super-awesome pictures! I am not a fan of outdoor camping, but you've made it look like fun. The soap is genius. Really.
oh gee what a beautiful fall we have! haha!
Camping looked like fun! But I prefer the kind of camping that has a bed and 4 walls and a hot tub! But maybe I could do the tent thing for a night or two.....maybe.
How fun that you got to go on a scouting campout too!!! It looks like a really beautiful place.
Your Halloween pictures are priceless!!!
Sounds like a great time! And whereever you were is BEAUTIFUL!! Love all the fall colors.
You're such a good sport to go camping with them all...BTW that's pretty cool that the cub scouts let 'girls' go!
Our autumn is usually pretty mild - but I wish we had our summers (a little cooler and drier!) and your autumns, winters and springs!
Nice photos, looks like fun, I have to agree with you about the sign, though, more confusing! LOL!
WOW! You really do some major blogging! And I LOVE your header! Yeah...you are awesome!
lol! What a blast! I remember the panty hose soap when I was a girl scout! lol!
And that sign post.....I really want to know where "Cope" is and what it is, too! lol!
I think I'd need a visit to cope if someone's cell phone woke me up at 7 am! lol!
