Geaux Tigers!

If you live down here long enough you start to bleed purple and gold. Well, not really, but you can get suckered into the LSU football following. It's actually pretty exciting. I grew up where folks were die hard Ohio State University fans. And now, I am surrounded by Louisiana State University fans. But by having friends who are die hards, means I get to go to the games for free!! It was my first ever Tiger's game! The stadium was really packed. But not as full as usual. There were 93,000 fans there that night! They were loud and so fun! I couldn't imagine sitting up at the top! Those are true fans that sit up there! We had good seats. We sat right to the side of the purple goal line. Not too shabby! We got there just in time for half time. We were running a bit late. I enjoyed halftime. Being that I was in marching band. I watch those kids out on the field and thing to myself how I should have marched in band in college. I would have had a blast The LSU Band was about the same size as my high school marching band. It brought back some good memories. Well, we didn't have all those flag girls. Our director didn't like flag girls. We did have majorettes. Those were the Golden Girls. They were skinny, pretty, and probably freezing their tails off. There are the trumpets. That is what I played! And I even marched on the 20 yard line! I know, I am such the band geek! They were pretty good. It was perfect timing. We went to the game with our friends and their kids. They are the ones who had the tickets. They are season ticket holders. Sorry her husband isn't in focus, I had my zoom lens on. And their son and his new girlfriend went too. She is a nice girl. She dyes her beautiful red hair black!!! My husband LOVES redheads and gasped when he saw what she did to her lovely locks. He told her how much he LOVES red heads. I smacked him. After half time it was finally time to watch some football. The game was actually pretty uneventful until it went into over time!! That is where there were some awesome hits with helmets flying and men being pulled straight out of the air! It was pretty sweet! But I didn't get any pictures of the really cool stuff. I did manage to get a picture of one man who just fell over after he got in the line up! Yep, he hit the dust! See him there? He is the one inside the red circle! Now watch him go down! Oppsy!! It was like his arm gave out! But he hopped right back up and went in for a tackle! That is one big boy!! I guess my arm might give out if I would lean on it like that too. Or maybe it was a way to syke out his opponent? P Dog would get mad and yell at the football players and then look up at the screen as if it would tell him magical things. It was pretty entertaining! But in the end we won!! Hooray! It was a really fun night. I even got the kid in front of me to pose! He has known my friends ever since he was a little baby! His parents are also season ticket holders and have had the spot in front of my friends for years! Geaux Tigers! They won back the golden BOOT! It was a fun night. I know can say I have been to an LSU game.

What? Girl! You've lived in the South how long and this is your first LSU game? OK, well, you did better than me... I never did make it to an LSU game. It looks fun though, and it seems like they always win. They really know their football in the South don't they?! I miss those fried Thanksgiving turkeys too! Do you ever see Shannon? How is she?

Great pictures, but I must say--Go Buckeyes! I think I always have to be a fan being that I was born there. Plus, red is better than purple. Hee hee.

Glad you had fun. I enjoyed seeing the game from here through your lens.

Not the biggest LSU fan - BUT I have ALWAYS, ALWAYS been a HUGE Saints fan! And what do you know? THEY ROCK! lol

BTW - Love a cajun Thanksgiving. I didn't get one this year so we're butchering soon and having a late T-day early x-mas cajun dinner (at least that's the plan). Complete with fresh fried Turkey and shrimp.

You got there too late! The game is a blast but without tailgating it's not the same! NO ONE does tailgating like tiger fans do!!

Looks like you had a terrific time, Andrea! I love marching bands. My one twinling plays trombone in the homeschool band. I keep hoping he'll want to play in a marching band. I will SO be there on the sidelines cheering like a crazy band Mom! lol!

That photo of your and your hubby is adorable. You know....you'd look cute as a red head. *wink-wink*
