Adventures in Swampland

Deep in the swampy bayou, three adventurers went out on a mission. They were tracking back into the deepest parts of the swamp lands, in search of, non other, than the infamous Old Wood! The trek began in the late afternoon. With hopes high, they ventured close to the thick wood that surrounded the bayou. The greenery seemed all too thick to venture through. Nature was showing signs of spring, with sprouting poison ivy. The Adventurers stayed clear of the thick forest. They did not want to tangle with any itchy plants. They might be brave but not silly. The Adventurers came upon an old wood shed. It seemed as if we were getting closer to the infamous Old Wood!! The search was beginning to get a little desperate, when ALAS!! There is was...........The sheer beauty of it. The treasured Old Wood was found. The Adventurers were filled with excitement at their find!! Then the decision of which Old Wood would become our most precious treasure began. The choices and decisions. This loot was too good to be true!! But sometimes you just have to dig in there and get your hands a bit dirty, if you want to get what you want! And that is just what the Adventurers did. Just dig in! He almost has it! One more big tug with those manly muscles. A job well done! Nothing can stop the Adventurers of getting their loot. The infamous Old Wood proved to be a marvelous loot. The Adventurers had to be careful on their trek back to the high ground. There were a few obstacles on the way. Many, many small mounds of packed mud. Some as high at 8 inches! The Adventurers had to watch where they walked, so they would not drop their precious Old Wood!Because one does not want to land face first into any swampy crawfish homes. And let me tell ya, there were a bunch to walk over and around. The Old wood safely made it home. The old wood soon was transformed into a new old treasure! A beauty. In all it's imperfections, it's simply perfect. The old staples and chipping paint. The Adventurers did a fantastic job finding a great treasure. Now all the Adventurers need to find, is some chicken wire! A new hunt is on. Then the Old Wood will be my new Message Board!

What a great idea Andrea! I'm going to have to copy you on this one and then I can use my clothes pins to hang the notes! Thanks I'm excited to find me some old wood.

At least your kiddos weren't kicking the crawfish mounds or throwing them. That's what my son does. He thinks he's something when he does that. LOL

I just framed domething that was well over $100.00. The fame looks great.

The poison ivy would jump onto me and I'd be swollen to huge proportions in no time.

Perfect wood for your project! Where did you find the wood, on your property? Were those stacked mud piles the crawfish homes, were there any living in them or were they empty? Sorry so many quesions, I felt like I went on the swamp adventure but I needed a tour guide to tell me all about the cool stuff, LOL! ;)
