Wall Decore

While Mr. Cowboy was making my smaller frame for my "chicken wire message board", I told him about my newest idea. I promise I will show you pictures of my message board when it is finished. I am picking up some chicken wire tomorrow. But anyway, my new IDEA!!! I have this huge wall in my kitchen. This huge wall needs some decoration. I wanted to put a bunch of pictures on that wall. But I did not want to do the traditional black picture frames with black and white pictures. I saw an idea where someone just put random pictures all over their wall. But their wall was a lot smaller than mine. So, I came up with a plan!! Yes, more thinking. A dangerous past time, I know. Here is my huge empty wall. Don't mind the mess. The day before I took this picture, I had went through the kids' rooms and took out a bunch of clothes. Now I have boxes and goodwill bags everywhere. So, don't mind the mess. I am cleaning up!! I promise. But that wall, isn't it huge? What do you do there? Well, this is what you do there!! Okay, my arrows are pointing out my junk. The dog kennel, boxes I need to mail off, coats that need hung, and that fabulous frame that I am going to convince Mr. Cowboy that I NEED!! We have all the wood for it, we just have to build it. Then I will put random pictures of the kids inside the frame and I will cover the entire inside of the frame with fun kid and dog pictures. Fun Idea right? But looking at the frame I started thinking again. I thought that the frame might need to be a bit darker. I think I like the darker frame better. I could just stain the wood a tiny bit. It's some old barn cypress wood. I am so excited about it. Then I want to put some vinyl word art on the wall above the frame. So you don't have to pull out your reading glasses, it says, "FAMILY, we may not have it all together but together we have it all." What do you think? My sister says that the word family needs to be in the middle of the frame. So, what do you think, now? Should we build a huge picture frame for a picture collage? I think it will look neat! Something different and it won't cost much to do. This is what happens when I get to thinking of ideas for decorating. It gets kind of out of hand. I also found a great set of steer horns in my father in laws shed. They were shoved up in a closet. Mr. Cowboy and I are borrowing them!! Hee hee! It's so nice to finally be decorating my house after being in it for four years.

I think it's a great idea! Very personal and rustic. I love the family quote and agree, I like it in the middle better!
You are very creative!

That is a great way to fill the wall. You may want to consider lowering the fame/wording a little. If it's too high, it'll look out of proportion.

My mistake, it's in the perfect spot.

That's an awesome idea, and I think it will look great in that spot. I also think it's neat how you come up with all these great ideas--I'm actually taking note for my own decorating I am about to do. My husband and I have just bought our first house, and we have had some crazy, yet oddly not so ridiculous, ideas. I feel kind of like you when it come to decorating--it's a lot of fun. But I tend to want to spend more money than is available. :)

I think Family in the middle is much better then on the side. How neat!!

It is very creative with the Family on the side though, so if you like that better it would be nice too. In the middle is more traditional. Very lovely Andrea.

I am going to copy your idea, but my wall is MUCH smaller so I am going to use an old wood frame window that I already have. Thanks for the idea.

That's cool!!! I like the family in the middle too for some reason, not that it's bad on the side though.

Andrea, I love it! At our family cattle ranch I put picture boards all over the court yard area and the great room. Yours, however, is much more picturesque. I love LOVE barn wood. Max made me a mirror for our bathroom of it and a coat rack. Awesome stuff.

Again, I am so impressed with your photoshop skills! :)
