Things are just BIGGER in the South
It's true, I wouldn't lie to you. We have bigger bugs, bigger accents, bigger swamps, bigger bugs, bigger animals, and bigger bugs. Gee, did I say bugs three times? Well, we really do have super humongous bugs down here. The other night the boys found this.......... Although, it's not a bug, this frog has to be large to eat the big bugs. You think I zoomed in but no, not really! All I had to do was hold the camera just a bit closer. My subject was already big! I just don't think amphibians should get this large. Here is the frog in all it's glory! Big Cowpoke was so excited about the frog. Mr. Cowboy kept saying, "Those are frying legs!" Seriously, is that all that southern men think about? Frying up something? I just wanted the kids to put it in the pond. But first the poor bullfrog had to endure some human torture. And then Cowpokette had to endure her big brother chasing her around with a huge frog. She didn't want anything to do with it's slimy body. I don't blame her. I didn't touch the frog either! Big Cowpoke was on the hunt for the other bullfrog that was living in an old water trough. He was bound and determined to find his own huge frog. But that big frog got away. He was a little bummed. The big boys posed like it was some huge rare fish they caught. Then the poor frog was let go in the pond. I bet that was the happiest bullfrog ever. I was a pretty happy Mom too. I really don't do well, with slimy frogs. In fact, frogs in general freak me out. I really do not like them little, let alone super huge.

Holy cow! I have never seen one that big before....and I really don't care to. Although I am sure I have a good chance of seeing one up close and personal as John David gets bigger. Big Cowpoke looks pretty excited about his find!
My God it is ginormous! You should like them - they eat the big bugs!!!
Cute pics
Very cute - boys will be boys!
You know that picture of you him standing looking a little frogless and bummed is so neat - the grass almost matches his shirt. That one is a keeper for sure.
Holy crap that ain't a frog. Thats a friggn hairless, water logged house cat!
I am positive your little cowpoke is going to become a model!!! He has the looks and the blond hair and the stance!!
The frog is amazing too!!
ROTFL!!! Ya you do have big frogs! He is huge I tell ya! Glad he was returned to his home in the pond!
I was thinking the same thing about his legs. LOL He's one big bullfrog alright.
EWWWWWWWWWWWW! That is so disgusting! We only find tiny ones at our house. Please rid your property of all that nastiest by next Monday please! I don't wanna be running from frogs during our Soccer game! UGH!
Um, that thing is toooooo big! Do the bullfrogs frighten you as much as the smaller tree frogs? I actually think the little ones would bother me more, since they are more wiggily! ;)
Holy Frog Legs Batman!! Do you live near a nuclear power plant or something? I'm thinkin' teenage mutant ninja frogs!
That is so awesome!! I'd love to get my hands on that. Way fun. I can't wait to show my son this post when he gets out of the shower. He LOVES amphibians and reptiles like you wouldn't believe.
WOW! That is one big froggy! Would scare me to find him.
Holy. Cow. I think if the frog kicked your boys it would leave a bruise.
Well you're right that's one hell of a huge frog. Glad I won't meet him anytime soon.
Good googly moogly - that's SOME frog!
GAH! He was HUGE!!! Aren't you glad the boys didn't bring it in the house to be their new pet? Imagine preparing to take a bath and finding it in your bathtub! yikes!
When we camped on the beach in Georgia we had to take showers in their 'rustic' bug infested bathrooms.
But the worst of it all was that the showers were filled with tiny green frogs on the shower walls.
I took my shower, with one eye scanning the shower walls for any movement from those frogs that might have meant they were getting ready to jump on me! Whew! None did, though. I think they just liked the damp showers. But what a freakish nightmare!

WOW...I'm glad we don't have them that big here...he might eat my dog! ;)
Good grief-a-mercy! I am freaked out just looking at the pictures! My daddy always said that when a bullfrog made its croak sound it was saying, "I won't - do the dishes" - Give it a try!
