Clover, Clover, Everywhere!

With this stretch of warm weather all the clover in our yard has really taken over! It's insane. It's not just a small patch of clover we had a hill of it. Our house is built up on a hill. The clover is covering our entire yard. Belle is about 14 inches tall and you can see just how tall this clover is. Doesn't this clover know it's January? It's out of control. I wish that this clover would flower and be pretty, but it doesn't flower, it just grows like a weed! So, with all this green stuff, we had to mow our yard in January. Yep, that's right. We weed eated the ditches. Which before i moved here I called it "weed whacker", and now I have conformed to "weed eater". The things the south has done for me!! Can you see the grass flying up in this picture? The sun was setting and glaring off the grass pieces. It was pretty cool. I tried some different settings on my camera. Yeah, I have totally not mastered that. Maybe I should stick to the auto mode!! Whauahahaaa!! It sure smelled like spring time after he cut the lawn. I love the smell of fresh cut grass. But it didn't take too long for the sun to set on the grass cutting. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. We worked on welding the arena and tomorrow we have our rodeo club award ceremony! I am so excited for that!! I was in the running for Rookie in the Senior division!! But we will have to see what tomorrow brings!

I cannot believe that it is warm, and that you folks are out mowing your lawns right now!!!! Absolutely amazing!!

I was glad to read the update on Peanut. He is truly a gem, and your cowpokes all look so cute on him...especially Little Cowpokette, but she always looks so cute.....

Wow. Look at all that clover. Ca horses eat that? Too bad you don't have goats. They would love it. Reminds me of kudzu, the way that it's growing out of control, It might swallow Belle whole! hehe

Good luck tomorrow, my friend,

Wow, clover in January? Very strange! I could almost smell it! :) I think My Boy smelled it, LOL! He's begging me to bringing him by for a visit!
I can't wait to hear about the awards ceremony!
I can tell you are having fun with the new camera!

Yep, we need to mow. I am in denial.. Check out our blog for our winter surprise...

Keep playing with the camera, you'll get it. It does look like you are having fun though. I haven't been very good about using my new video camera. I think all the features scare me. LOL

My horses love clover and would go out of their way to get some. I wish I could send you a picture of our yard, as of now it's still snowing since this morning. The clover looks mighty nice and so does Belle, she is so sweet.

Mowing in January? Count your blessings...you could be trying to drain flood waters :)

Good luck in your run for Rookie of the Year!

That's just one of the things about living here in the South. Yesterday it was like 70 then by dusk the temps had dropped to like 30. We also have clover coming up in our yard but cant mow cause of all the rain we have had. So instead of mowing, we go mud-riding. YEE-HAW.
I asked my boys about your cowboy and Brian said he remembered the name. A friend of mine said he knew your cowboy. His name is Kevin Merritt. His Dad is M.C. Merritt that has 5M rodeo. He may remember my cousin Bart Jackson that rode in the PBR. Bart hasn't rode in a couple of years, too many spills and broken bones.

It seems good to see a lawn, we have snow and then more snow, we also have a winter advisory, so enjoy your clover.

You are so right--it doesn't look like January at all! I don't think we get that green in the summer.

Enjoy that weather.
