Easter Morning

We have some Easter Traditions that are a must. We must have Easter Baskets, Easter Eggs, Easter Candy, and an Easter Egg and Basket hunt. I found out the hard way that hiding dyed Easter Eggs in the south is not a good thing. If you get up super early and hide the eggs, by the time the kids get up to find them, the eggs start to sweat. Then the dye gets on the rug and that is not good. So, now I only hide fake plastic eggs. Mr. Cowboy said I bought way too much candy. But I don't think I did. I buy the candy for ME to eat!! We got out all our plastic eggs and made sure they were all empty and ready for the Easter Bunny to come and fill them with candy and money. Cowpokette found her basket really easily. Since Little Cowpoke gave it to her. The kids then found all the eggs. He was a bit excited. They put all the eggs that they found into the egg cartons. That way we knew we had found them all. All their loot! Then Little Cowpoke finally found his basket. Little Cowpoke is such a happy kid. Just pure JOY!! Who knew two Hot Wheel cars would be so cool? Well, the Easter Bunny sure did. We then left for church, which started at 9 am and it takes 25 minutes to get there and we didn't leave until 8:50 am. We got to church about 20 minutes late. We have church for three hours and after the first hour they cancelled the other two hours because of the lack of people. We are a tiny church. After church we went over to Grandma T's house. On the way we stopped by Mr. Cowboy's mother's grave site. She passed away from cancer a few years ago. We then ate way too much food and topped it off with some yummy cake and more candy. We then headed back home for a crawfish boil. But that is an entire different post. We had a great morning and a wonderful Easter. I called Big Cowpoke to wish him a Happy Easter, but he was too interested in the t.v. to talk to me. He wouldn't tell me what he got for Easter and refused to talk to anyone else. I can't wait for him to come home. Only a few more days.

love the Sunday best! :) We didn't even make it on Sunday. Church is at 9, and it takes at least 45 min to get there, if I drive really fast.

Holidays are so fun when they are litle, dress them up, let them hunt for Easter eggs, haul them off to church, such fun!

As always, I enjoy your posts and pictures. The kiddies look very cute and happy. My kiddie is grown and Easter morning is much different. I saw the name "Guidry" on a headstone in your picture...my boss' name is Guidry and he's from LA. I guess that's a pretty common name there.

Well, it's good you still went to church. It's the effort that counts, right?

Glad you had a happy Easter.
