When You Turn Sixteen.......

When you turn sixteen, I promise not to take out your baby pictures and show them to your girlfriend. When you are sixteen, I promise to not invade your space, too much. When you are sixteen, I promise to let you drive the van. When you are sixteen, I promise to break out these photos and remind you of what your dream car was. When you are sixteen, and you are taking your driver's test, I promise to have this picture in my wallet, to show you that you always looked good next to a nice set of wheels. Oh, I can't wait until Big Cowpoke is 16, and I can have all sorts of fun with pictures. Yes, I probably will be the mom that will show every girlfriend his baby pictures. I probably will be that "silly" mom that embarrasses Big Cowpoke. But maybe that will keep the girl's away. But there is one thing I am sure about, when Big Cowpoke turns 16, he probably will still be trying to squeeze his feet into the same brown boots. I know it will be here before I know it. And I can't wait to show him those car pictures. He sure thought he was hot stuff modeling next to the little red plastic car. I sure do love that kid.

Do you scrapbook? You seem like a natural born scrapbooking mama.

Thse photos are just so special and will forever conjure up such wonderful memories. And your 'journaling' about your son is just so meaningful and full of love.

Kudos to you. You really touched my heart :)

Great pictures!!! I love the plastic car. He'll be modeling by a real car in a few years--scary huh!

P.S. Playgroup is at the millenium park this week. Are you coming?

Love the story and photos. What an adorable boy!(can I still say that word about him?) Especially like the photo of his boots. Sure brings back memories. Since my kids are all grown up, I'll say ... you can never take too many photos!

Many thanks to you for your comments about the horse I rescued. He is a love and each day is a gift. I'm sure he is going to make it!

This is a cute post! I wonder if you really will dig out those pics for his wedding? Ya know, when he does one of those slide shows? I saw one at someone's 40th bday, too! ;) It's always fun to embarrass people at their big events.
