Geronimo!!!!

Big Cowpoke had a friend over the other evening and we were invaded!! While playing in the backyard they started dropping from the sky! We looked right. We looked left. We were surrounded!!! It was an attack! Paratroopers were falling from the skies!Little Cowpoke tried his best to fight off the attackers, but he needed some back up. I did what I thought was best and commanded a full fledged attack. And those little troopers did what they do best, ATTACKED!!!!
The big boys went in for the counter attack. They were armed and dangerous. Well, not armed, but dangerous. It was very scary, but I knew they would protect me and Cowpokette. Big Cowpoke tried the sneak attack. It seemed to be working. Big Cowpoke was on to something. By George, I think he might have one!!Why yes! He did conquer the mighty Paratroopers! But watch out Big Cowpoke, there is another one coming in for a landing!! RUN!And run he did, right over to me, to show me that the Paratrooper was broken. Being the brave mom that I am, took in the injured soldier and told Big Cowpoke not to worry, I would have him back out in the field in no time. Okay, so we weren't under any kind of attack. It was sure fun to pretend that we were! The boys and I made some parachute army men. Well, Little Cowpoke had a Power Ranger, but it did the same thing. The boys had a lot of fun with them. All the parachute is, is a plastic grocery bag, some pipe cleaners, and army figures. The boys then folded up their bags and tossed them into the air. Easy, right?Sometimes it helped to get a running start! Then through it as high as you can!Little Cowpoke was really good at throwing his Power Ranger. There he goes, up, up and AWAY................."Look how HIGH it went mom!!" Then down he came. Really, a total blast for the boys. Well, as long as the wind didn't take their army men too close to the house. This Power Ranger was stuck up on the roof until Mr. Cowboy came home and rescued him. Then there was this poor guy.......He was kinda like those men on those cartoons when their parachute gets caught in a tree! The wind blew him down off the roof. The boys had hours of fun, and have played with their army men all weekend long. The parachute men were fun and super cheap and easy to make. Just take a plastic grocery bag and enlarge the handles of the plastic bag, by trimming the sides. Then trim the front and back of the bag into a half oval shape. Then fold two pipe cleaners in half and loop each around a handle of the bag. Twist the ends of the pipe cleaners around the shoulders of a sturdy plastic action figure or doll!! When you are all done, fold the bag in half, grab the fold, and whip him up into the wild, blue yonder!!And watch your kids have a blast!

I love seeing kids getting outdoors and using their imagination. You've got more great snapshots to add to your family album. We used to buy a lot of toys for our kids, but realized that they were always more interested in playing with the boxes that the toys come in than the toys themselves. May as well make your own toys, or better yet have the kids make them.

What a great mom you are. How fun. I'll bet your boys were excited to see themselves on your page. Hey where was "Barbie" para trooper?

I can't believe how big and cute your kids are! Especially that little girl. What a fun mom you are, can you believe we are so old? I haven't seen in in forever, almost over 10 years! I think it would be so fun to visit you in the swamp lands. I am so glad you are doing so well and that we have a fun way to stay in touch.
