Josephine

The other day I tried to take pictures of Josephine. She has gotten so big and she likes to walk up to you to get scratched, so it was hard to get some pictures of her. She is about four weeks old in these pictures. I go out in the mornings and halter her. I then lead her around a bit and brush her all over. I pick up all four feet and then give her a good brush down. This doesn't take very long. She doesn't have much of an attention span. So, I keep it quick and simple. She loves her halter, she really does. Cough Cough Just look at the leg extension!! I let her play around a little while when I first put her halter on. She still isn't a big fan of it. But if you let her be for a little while she gets used to it. That halter was big on her a week ago, and now it's on the last hole and a little snug! It doesn't take her long to calm down and then I lead her in small circles. We walk away from her mom and then walk back to her mom. After I lead her around for a while, Pearl will get upset and nicker for her to come back over by her. Such a protective mother. She is a really sweet girl. She has filled out a bunch. She is tall and elegant. She also has made friends with the other filly and gets really excited to go and play with her in the mornings. I have such big ideas and dreams for this little filly and me. She is going to be my project horse and hopefully my show horse. Her legs keep growing and growing. She is a lot taller than any other foal that Pearl has had. I am really hoping she will reach 16 hands. Here she is coming down the isle way getting ready to be turned out. Pearl has a tendency to want to gallop down the isle. So, I now go first and make them stand and relax at the gate before I open it. They have gotten a lot getter . They now just walk down the isle. But once the door is open, anything goes! Just look at that caboose. Then it's time to head for the hills. Well, if we had hills, I am sure she would head for them. Actually, she just headed for the pond. I love how she copies her mom. My little hunter under saddle prospect. I am kinda hoping she will be a nice all around horse. Can you see her doing a little Western Pleasure class? I am not sure what gait she is in here, kinda like a trot in the front and a lope in the back, but she sure does have some nice sweeping motion with her front end. I think she just likes to play around. Well, that is an update on Josephine. Ms. Elegant. People keep telling me I should call her Prissy, but I like Josephine. Then I can call her Jojo or Josey or Bucky Jo. See so many fun possibilities.

That is the cutest little nose EVER!!! lol I would love to wake up to that little darling every day. I'd be playing with them all day long, but then they'd hate me, lol. My mare's name is sassy, and it fits her to a giant T. lol I love the name Josephine. If we ever had a daughter, her name was going to be Samantha Josephine. Something so regal about that name, Josephine.

What a pretty pretty girl Andrea! She is growing up so nice for you. Nice job Pearl!! ;)

Great idea the other day too, with the pictures and such. I think you posted that at the perfect time, since the rain here is keeping us inside... we are going to make pictures for Johnny Reb to hang on the wall in his hospital room!

Rub those fillies from me please!

Ah, The Empress Josephine, she is a very elegant filly and looks like she might just be a very tall girl with those legs.

She is SO cute! I love how she's filling out, and such a neat color, too. You took some nice shots of her. I love the one of her tail curled around her hiney as she looks out of the panels. And of course, the running ones! It's cute that she and Pearl dash around together.

She sure is growing and putting on weight. The pictures are great, you should consider making a documentary for NGO, not kidding, bet they would be interested. Thank you for visiting my photos.

I agree with everyone else - very very cute. And those legs!!!

My inclination would also be to call her a future HUS prospect.

Oh wow! She is so pretty...and so tall! She looks like a Josey. You picked out a good name with cute options for nicknames, too.

I can't wait to see updates on her as she grows.
Val's mare is due in just a couple more weeks. She is HUGE!!
I just hope I get to see the birth!
