Oh What a Beatuiful Morning.....

This morning at 5:30am I heard the wonderful sound of pitter patter coming down the hall. Then my darling Little Cowpoke peaked up over my bed. The look on his face said it all. I could not jump out of bed quite fast enough. I did manage to push him back a little bit so he wouldn't throw up on my face. Then I directed him to the wood floor, and thank goodness I did. Let me tell ya. They should make alarm clocks that sound like sick kids. That has you jumping out of bed so fast. It's like lightning speeds, that are so not normal for that early in the morning. After it was all said and done Little Cowpoke said, "I feel better Mom." I am glad he feels better poor little guy.

Now this is what I have been eye balling for the last two days. See that orange hurricane marker? That is right over my house. Yep, that is where I live. Right in the heel of the boot. It looks like no matter what I am going to get to meet this nice Gustav. Luckily though, as of now, he isn't too strong. I am going to wait out a category two hurricane. Anything bigger and I am out of here. You don't have to tell me twice. My plan right now is that on Sunday afternoon, to go and get Ozzie and bring him home to wait out the storm in our pasture. Then we will wait out the storm in the house. Mr. Cowboy is gearing up the generator so we can run our fridge and one air conditioner for us to sleep in comfort. He is so sweet. I think he just doesn't want me to leave. But three years ago it flattened the very house we live in, so, I am a bit nervous. Just a tad. Not as freaked out as I was this morning, but still a bit nervous.

First, we'll pray that you guys stay safe and that Gustav peters out a little before then.

Second, I'm glad you're bringing Ozzie home. You'll both be happier.

Get your butt up to the Shreveport area for a few days. My prayers are for your safety.

I'm getting nervous too. Bubba says he's not going anywhere though. If it gets too bad, I'll just leave his butt here! lol I guess he doesn't remember what we came home to last time. I don't know how much more this house can take!

Sorry about Little Cowpoke. The puking bug is never good. I'm sure they got all stirred up from school starting. I think the poor little guys get sick before the school kids do. I hope he's feeling better.

Oh the similarities of our lives. haha, sort of anyway. I was awokened at 5:30 a.m. myself, but it was more to the sound of my 9 year old saying, Mom I threw up in the hallway. So I got up to scrub carpet and have been up and scrubbing ever since. Except for when I've been internet surfing. I am outta here first thing in the morning, but mostly b/c I 1. don't want to live without air conditioning and lights for longer than 20 minutes, and 2. Because I have three really huge trees that surprisingly didn't fall during Rita. But Gus might be the muscle they need. And 3. I refuse to sit in evacuation traffic with four whiny kids while my hubs gets his car all to himself. No way. Not fair. I'm outta here.

Wow, that is terrifying! Move to the PNW! We don't have to deal with any of that scary stuff! I don't know what I would do. Probably curl up in a ball and cry.

Hey Andrea, can you post some of your hurricane preparation tips? I am new to this kind of potential disaster, and would love to learn more ASAP. What is now Tropical Storm Hannah could possibly take a bead on us for a direct hit, and I'd like to know as much as possible!

That being said, I am glad Ozzie is with you again. 'Nuff said! ;) And keep feeling better little dude!!!!

Yikes! I talked to my Aunt yesterday (she's in Lafeyette) and they're worried...but that's way further from you! I hope it doesn't build and everything is okay!
