Ultrasound

Yesterday I took Pearl to the vet office to see if she was bred. I was so proud of myself. I drove the three horse gooseneck trailer with Pearl inside, and with two of my cowpokes in the truck with me, and got to the vet's office all by myself. I wanted to get there early so I could have the entire parking lot to turn around in, but there were already three horse trailers and a lot of cars parked in the parking lot. So, I just pulled in and hoped that I could get someone to turn me around. And sure enough there was a handful of real cowboys there willing to assist me. When I say real cowboys, they came complete with the handlebar mustaches!

Like his, but real. And the one that moved my truck and trailer for me even had cowboy boots that were up to his knees and his jeans were tucked into them. They were real cowboys. They were all 65 and older too. They were so nice. They even had some really really nice mares too! I was drooling. They have cutting horses. They had one little filly that is a granddaughter of Peptoboonsmal. He is a really nice stallion!! *wiping drool*.

You can breed your mare to this nice horse for the small price of $15,000. And no I did not make a mistake in zeros. You can sell his babies for around $50,000. But that is just pocket change. Ya know, I keep that in my sock! Any way back to my $700 dollar broodmare.

Pearl is going to have a baby! She is due about mid March. I will have to get an exact date but I do not feel like doing that right now so, for all of you who are sitting on the edge of your seat wanting, needing, having to know the exact date, sorry you will have to wait. I am so excited. No more last minuet trips to Fort Worth and no more outrageous vet bills. Yeah!

On another note. I bought a saddle blanket to donate to the rodeo club that we ride for. It is for a silent auction. I want to know what you all think of it and if you think I am so way out of style. I might be like so five minutes ago. I can tell you that Big Cowpoke was really excited about the blanket and he wants one for his horse. Maybe it will make him look like he is going faster. He does run the clover leaf pattern in about 1 minute 40 seconds. I know that time is hard to beat so, you all just watch out!! Sense some sarcasm please!

So, is this totally cool for a barrel racer? I am hoping it will bring in a lot of money. I don't know how in the whole fringe thing is anymore. But I figure if they don't like the fringe they can cut it off. Big Cowpoke wanted this one, but I told him we would have to get him one not so pink. So, let me know if I am totally too tacky. And I got this blanket from a way cool ebay store. You can order one with out fringe. Big Cowpoke wants the red and tan one! Anyway that is all for now. I will post later about the new animal we got yesterday!!!!

Congrats on the wee one on the way! And yeah for cowboys willing to help out damsels in distress. I am totally with you on the trailer backing thing.

That is a cool pad for barrel racers. Not so much for western pleasure.

That is exciting Pearl is havin' a baby! When's the shower? ;) Aren't those old cool cowboys just the coolest?
That pad will be fun for a barrel racin' gal, for sure! This summer on my family horse campout we are doing a breast cancer ride and My Boy will have to wear, gulp- PINK! I have to find a cool pink saddle pad.

Hope the saddle blanket brings a boat load of money at the auction. It's nice to have such helpful old Cowboys ready to help a damsel is distress. Congrats on the pregnancy on Pearl. Are you in Louisianna? Cuz it sure seems like you are, by the pics and the crawfish..........
